PURPOSE
The Filum Foundation supports national and international projects in the fields of Arts & Culture, Education, Healthcare, and Nature & Environment. The Foundation supports initiatives that serve the public benefit and do not pursue a commercial or private interest.
BOARD
REMUNERATION POLICY
Board members receive no remuneration for their work. Only expenses incurred in the performance of their duties are reimbursed.
POLICY
The Foundation’s policy is focused on supporting projects and organisations in the fields of Arts & Culture, Education, Healthcare, and Nature & Environment. Projects are selected independently by the Board and may be supported through one-off or long-term contributions. The Foundation does not operate as an application-based grant-making institution.
ACTIVITIES
The Foundation supports cultural institutions in the Netherlands, educational initiatives in South Africa, nature conservation and anti-poaching programmes, and scientific research in the field of healthcare. The Foundation also monitors and, where appropriate, assists in the implementation of the projects it supports.
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY
The Foundation prepares annual financial statements, including a balance sheet and a statement of income and expenditure. These are approved by the Board and published on this website within six months after the end of each financial year. An annual report on the Foundation’s activities and supported projects is published alongside the financial statements.
